Jim Hornsby is a well known and hugely respected guitarist who was born, and lives in Newcastle upon Tyne.
His colourful career has taken him from the Workingmen’s clubs and pubs of the North, to The USA Europe, Scandinavia and all points in between. As a young man, Jim was influenced by the ‘Twang’s the Thang’ of Duane Eddy, the melodic virtuoso subtlety of Chet Atkins, the sepia tinted narrative of Rambling Jack Elliott, and the seductive music of American bluegrass bands. He has retained this passion for what is now called "Roots" music and, as well as performing in his own right, and with his band Diesel Therapy (www.dieseltherapy.com) Jim can be heard guesting on many c.ds ( See Discography/Recording Credits). After a stint playing lead guitar for the legendary Frank Yonco and the Everglades, Frank described Jim as "The best telecaster player I ever met". Jim has worked alongside some famous and some not so famous people down the years and has become a raconteur of wit, warmth and great charm, as he recounts his adventures. This website is dedicated to Jim: His life in music, his current activities and his never ending passion for stringed instruments. (Guitars, Dobros Banjos).
